Guardians of the Universe
Immortal watchers who forged the galaxy's greatest army from pure will.
The Guardians of the Universe are an ancient, effectively immortal race of blue-skinned beings who once roamed Maltus before retreating to their fortress world, Oa, at the center of the universe. As the architects of the Green Lantern Corps, they dedicated themselves to maintaining universal order by distributing willpower-based power rings to worthy individuals across the galaxy, serving as both supreme judges and silent administrators of intergalactic law.

Background
However, their rigid adherence to law eventually led to schisms within their own ranks. The most famous dissent was Sinestro, once a revered member of the Corps, whose belief that order required fear led him to create his own Yellow Lantern Corps. This conflict revealed the Guardians' greatest flaw: an inability to fully understand or account for emotion in their equations of justice. Despite their immense power and technological superiority, they have often been outmaneuvered by those who wield emotions they tried to suppress, forcing them to constantly adapt their strategies from behind the walls of Oa.
