Super Bowl XIII was played on January 21, 1979, at the Miami Orange Bowl. The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the defending champion Dallas Cowboys 35-31 in a rematch of Super Bowl X, with both clubs trying to become the first to win three Super Bowls.

Lore & Background
Dallas had gone 12-4 and beaten Atlanta and the Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs; Pittsburgh went 14-2. Both teams had won two Super Bowls that decade with the same quarterbacks, Roger Staubach and Terry Bradshaw. It was the fifth and last Super Bowl at the Orange Bowl, and 26 future Hall of Famers took part, 11 of them Cowboys.
