Nile Rodgers is an American guitarist who collaborated with Daft Punk on 'Get Lucky', released as the lead single from Random Access Memories on 19 April 2013. He first met the duo at a listening party for their 2001 album Discovery, but scheduling conflicts delayed their collaboration until he was invited to sessions at Electric Lady Studios in New York City. During production, Rodgers asked that all elements except the drum track be muted so he could create a suitable guitar part; once finished, bassist Nathan East and others re-recorded their parts to fit his performance. Critics widely praised his guitar riffs upon release.
