In the lore of Night City, surviving a heist on Arasaka is rare; surviving with their property stolen is nearly impossible. The events here cement V as a target for corporate hit squads while simultaneously bonding them to Johnny Silverhand through the trauma of the Relic implantation. Wakako Okada represents the old guard of fixers who understand that sometimes, clients need protection more than they need jobs. Her intervention prevents immediate capture or death by MaxTac and Arasaka security forces. The mission also highlights the psychological toll of the Relic. The mission begins immediately after V awakens from surgery following the botched heist at Konpeki Plaza. The player must navigate a hospital environment before departing into Night City proper. Upon leaving, Wakako Okada contacts V to meet at her bar, The Afterlife. Here, she confirms Jackie Welles is dead and warns that Arasaka mercenaries are hunting V for the stolen Relic. This sequence establishes the core conflict: survival against a mega-corporation while managing the digital ghost of Johnny Silverhand in your head. There are no combat encounters here, but dialogue choices matter. You can choose to be hostile or cooperative with Wakako, affecting her reputation slightly. Ignoring Johnny's commentary is possible but he remains present. Completing this mission unlocks the main Act 1 quest chains involving Judy Alvarez, Panam Palmer, and Rogue Amendiares.
