Did You Know?

Gloria Estefan version

In 1994, Cuban-American singer Gloria Estefan released a cover of the song as the second single from her fourth solo album, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me. Issued by Epic Records in November 1994, it was produced by Emilio Estefan, Jr., Jorge Casas, and Clay Ostwald. The single included a new track, "If We Were Lovers", the English version of her 1993 hit "Con Los Años Que Me Quedan". The song reached number one in Spain and Panama, and peaked at number 11 on the UK Singles Chart.

Retrospective reviews noted the song's dramatic quality. Maryann Scheufele from AXS commented on her breath control and sustained notes. A Billboard reviewer described the sounds as thrilling and elegant. Chuck Campbell of Knoxville News Sentinel called it a standout on which Estefan shines with sincerity.

Music & Media wrote that the ballad rises above the clouds like radio waves. Phil Shanklin of ReviewsRevues noted the song's cheesiness but said Estefan goes for broke by upping the drama.
