He later served as vice president of MCI Digital Information Services, then joined Bob Kahn at the Corporation for National Research Initiatives. In 1992, he and Kahn founded the Internet Society, where Cerf served as first president. He rejoined MCI in 1994 as Senior Vice President of Technology Strategy.
