Background
Colorado had already swept the Philadelphia Phillies in the Division Series, and the four wins took the team's late-season run from 17-1 to 21-1. It was only the second NLCS sweep since the series went to seven games in 1985, after Atlanta's in 1995. Matt Holliday was named the series MVP. The Rockies went on to lose the World Series to the Boston Red Sox in four games.
