Bravo was brought to the Guadalajara youth system by José Luis Real. He made his debut with the senior team under manager Jorge Dávalos on 17 February 2001 against Tigres UANL. He won the Apertura 2002 Best Rookie award. In 2006, he helped Guadalajara win the Apertura championship title. He scored his 100th goal for the club on 26 April 2008. He later played for Deportivo de La Coruña, Tigres UANL, Sporting Kansas City, Cruz Azul, Atlas, Carolina RailHawks, Phoenix Rising FC, and Leones Negros UdeG. He was arrested on 4 October 2025 in Zapopan, Jalisco on allegations of sexual abuse of a minor, and a judge ruled he will stand trial.

Omar Bravo is a retired striker best known as Guadalajara's all-time leading scorer. He had three spells with the club, winning the Apertura 2006 title, the Copa MX Apertura 2015, and the Supercopa MX 2016. He also played for Deportivo de La Coruña, Tigres UANL, Sporting Kansas City, Cruz Azul, Atlas, Carolina RailHawks, Phoenix Rising FC, and Leones Negros UdeG.
