An Empress and the Warriors

Synopsis

During the Warring States period, war erupts between Yan and Zhao. The Yan king is killed in battle, and his daughter Princess Fei'er inherits the throne. With loyal general Murong Xuehu, she leads the defense. Her treacherous cousin Huba, who covets the throne, plots her assassination. Severely wounded, Fei'er is rescued by hermit warrior Duan Lanquan and falls in love with him while recovering. She returns to thwart a Zhao invasion and makes peace. Announcing she will abdicate to be with Duan Lanquan, she promises to return if Yan needs her. Huba seizes the throne and sends men to kill Fei'er. Duan Lanquan dies from poisoning while saving her; Murong Xuehu is also killed. Fei'er confronts Huba, who admits to causing her father's death. She slays him in single combat; his followers surrender, and peace is restored.
