Plot
As a child, Li Long is separated from his brother and later abandoned in a forest, where a Shaolin monk rescues him and allows him to become a Shaolin. Years later, Li Long learns of his brother's whereabouts, only to discover that his brother and his wife died in a car crash, leaving a nephew alone in New York. Li Long abandons his monastic life and moves to the United States. There, he befriends Sarah, the social worker caring for his nephew Michael, and meets Dave, a Shaolin admirer who helps him open a kung fu school. Unbeknownst to Li Long, Dave has borrowed money from Russian Mafia leader Oleg. After Li Long interrupts a match in Oleg's fight club, Oleg gives him two choices: fight for the club or have his student Mei kidnapped. Li Long becomes a fighter in brutal combat.
