Draft lottery
The lottery to set the top four picks was originally scheduled for September 14, 2017, but the league delayed it to November 13. Odds were based on combined records from the 2016 and 2017 seasons. The San Antonio Stars, having the worst two-year record, were guaranteed no worse than the third pick; after the Stars relocated to Las Vegas, Las Vegas kept those best odds. The team selected for the first pick is noted in bold text. This was the fifth time the team with the highest odds won the lottery and the second consecutive number one pick for Las Vegas.
