1974–75 Golden State Warriors season
Golden State won its third NBA title, sweeping Washington.
The 1974–75 Golden State Warriors season was the franchise's 29th, its 13th in California and fourth in Oakland. After four second-place finishes, the team traded Nate Thurmond for Clifford Ray, drafted Keith Wilkes, and lost Cazzie Russell, making Rick Barry the leader. Coach Al Attles used a deep rotation, and Barry led the NBA in scoring (30.6 ppg), free throw percentage, and steals. The Warriors won the Pacific Division at 48–34, then defeated Seattle, Chicago (after trailing 3–2), and swept Washington in the NBA Finals, with Barry named Finals MVP. It was the franchise's third championship and first since 1956.
