The 1990 Eastern Conference Finals was a seven-game series between the top-seeded Detroit Pistons and the third-seeded Chicago Bulls, won 4–3 by Detroit. The Bulls lost Game 7 in Detroit, the third straight year they were ousted in the playoffs by the Pistons.

Detroit won the first two games at The Palace of Auburn Hills, 86–77 on May 20 and 102–93 on May 22. Chicago answered at Chicago Stadium, 107–102 on May 26 with 47 points from Michael Jordan and 108–101 on May 28 with 42 from Jordan. The Pistons won Game 5 at home 97–83, the Bulls took Game 6 109–91, and Detroit won Game 7 at The Palace 93–74 on June 3.
This was the fourth playoff meeting between these two teams, with the Pistons winning two of the first three meetings.
