Rem Pitlick (born April 2, 1997) is a Canadian-born American professional ice hockey center who is currently an unrestricted free agent. His most recent stint was with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League (AHL). Drafted in the third round, 76th overall, by the Nashville Predators in 2016, Pitlick has also suited up for the Minnesota Wild, Montreal Canadiens, and Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL.
Pitlick’s junior career began in the USHL with the Waterloo Black Hawks before a trade sent him to the Muskegon Lumberjacks. In the 2015–16 season, he set a franchise record for most points in a season, earning USHL Player of the Year, USHL Forward of the Year, and the Dave Tyler Junior Player of the Year Award. He then played college hockey for the University of Minnesota, where he was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team and later the All-Big Ten First Team. His father, Lance Pitlick, played in the NHL for the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers.
After signing an entry-level contract with Nashville in March 2019, Pitlick made his NHL debut against the Minnesota Wild. He spent most of the 2019–20 season with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals, posting 20 goals and 36 points in 63 games. During the pandemic-shortened 2020–21 season, he played for the Chicago Wolves and was named AHL Player of the Month for February before being recalled by Nashville. He recorded his first two NHL points with the Predators.
Claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Wild in October 2021, Pitlick scored his first three NHL goals—a natural hat trick—against the Seattle Kraken in November. After 20 games with the Wild, he was claimed off waivers by the Montreal Canadiens in January 2022. He made an immediate impact, tallying six points in his first seven games and finishing the season with nine goals and 17 assists for 27 points. Re-signed to a two-year, $2.2 million contract that summer, he struggled early the following season, going pointless in seven games before being placed on waivers.
