Background
The song dates from the early years of the Monsters of the Midway era and was taken up the season after the Bears beat Washington 73-0 in the 1940 title game. At home games a 1993 recording by Bill Archer and the Big Bear Band plays every time the Bears score. After the Super Bowl XX win, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus performed and recorded the song for London Records, and it was later part of the Madden NFL 11 soundtrack.
