Walker played college basketball for the Connecticut Huskies, leading them to the 2011 NCAA championship and earning tournament Most Outstanding Player honors. He was the nation's second-leading scorer in his junior year and a consensus first-team All-American. In the 2011 Big East tournament, he hit a game-clinching buzzer-beater against Pittsburgh and led UConn to five wins in five days, scoring a record 130 points.
