Holdin' Out for Love
Cher's 1979 single, later a B-side and R&B hit.
"Holdin' Out for Love" is a song introduced by Cher on her 1979 album Prisoner, her second and final album for Casablanca Records. Written by Tom Snow and Cynthia Weil, it was the first collaboration between the two songwriters. The track was released as a promo single in North America, Europe, and Japan but failed to chart due to lack of promotion. The Pointer Sisters recorded it in 1981 as the B-side of "Slow Hand," and Angela Bofill's 1982 version reached number 25 on the R&B chart.
