Ron Rivera served as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers from 2011 to 2019, leading them to an appearance in Super Bowl 50 and becoming their all-time leader in wins. He was fired near the end of the 2019 season.

Rivera was hired as the fourth head coach of the Panthers on January 11, 2011. He was the second Latino in NFL history to become a head coach, following Tom Flores. During his tenure, he earned two NFL Coach of the Year awards (2013 and 2015). He led the Panthers to a 15–1 record in 2015 and a Super Bowl 50 appearance, where they lost to the Denver Broncos 24–10. Rivera was fired on December 3, 2019, after a 5–7 start to the season.
