Arterial resistivity index
Ultrasound measure of distal vascular resistance and compliance.
Last updated
The arterial resistivity index (RI), developed by Léandre Pourcelot, measures pulsatile blood flow to indicate resistance in the microvascular bed distal to the measurement site. It is used in ultrasound imaging to evaluate arteries and solid organ damage, and is altered by both vascular resistance and compliance.
