History
The Gorgeous cut a five-song demo at Flying Monkey Studio in Kelowna, then went on a break for about a year. The next summer, the band moved to Montreal, Quebec, started playing shows again, and brought in Hal Ferris on second guitar. They eventually signed with Distort Entertainment and cut the album Great Lakes in 2005 at Silo Studios in Stoney Creek, Ontario. After that record came out, the group toured Canada and, in January 2007, went to the United Kingdom as direct support for Architects. Before that tour, Ferris left and Kevin Keegan—who had played with A Javelin Reign and Bend Sinister—took over on guitar. The band later recorded more demo material to push a future release. In 2007, they toured with Cancer Bats. On March 7, 2007, they posted on MySpace that they were breaking up. After the split, Keegan played in Barn Burner and Dead Quiet. Julien Brousseau worked as a sound tech for Cancer Bats and performed in Pup. Miguel Shaw joined several independent bands. Hal Ferris played in various black metal projects. Jordan Daniel performed blues and folk music as The Boogieman Jordan Daniel.
