History

The band formed in 2010 after Charles Pilon, who had previously played in a metal band, posted an internet advertisement seeking musicians. Through this ad he met Maltais and the other founding members. They contacted Alex Erian, vocalist of Obey the Brave and Despised Icon, who agreed to make a guest appearance on the song "This City We're Taking Over," released as their first single in 2011. Jonathan Cabana from Blind Witness and Tony Gambino of Blessed by a Broken Heart also sang on the single. The single and its accompanying video generated significant visibility on YouTube. Erian became the band's manager and helped them secure a contract with Epitaph Records in December 2011, only months after they began playing together. The band had recorded and produced their debut album, "Nightlife," independently and presented it to multiple labels before signing with Epitaph. Their cover of Champagne Showers by LMFAO attracted considerable attention, with its video surpassing one million views on YouTube. Initially not included on Nightlife, Epitaph requested its addition, and the band complied. In 2014, following the departure of bassist Julien Guy-Béland, drummer Marc-André Lemyre, and DJ Jean-Michel Aumais, the band changed its name to Now and on Earth. New members bassist Anthony Alain-Rossi, drummer Philippe Beauchamp, and keyboardist Philippe Ferguson joined, and the album "Blacked Out" was released on Epitaph on April 13.
