Stampede Corral
Multi-purpose Calgary arena that hosted Olympics, rodeo, and wrestling.
The Stampede Corral was a multi-purpose arena in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, located on the grounds of Stampede Park. Completed in 1950 at a cost of C$1.25 million, it replaced Victoria Arena as the home of the Calgary Stampeders minor professional hockey club. At the time, it was the largest arena in Canada west of Toronto and the first in the region without support columns obstructing sight lines. The Corral hosted the 1972 World Figure Skating Championships, figure skating and ice hockey events at the 1988 Winter Olympics, rodeo competitions, and Davis Cup tennis matches. It was also a frequent venue for Stampede Wrestling supershows. Demolition began in December 2020 and was completed in 2021.
