Run BTS

Run BTS (Korean: 달려라 방탄; also stylized as Run BTS!) is a South Korean web variety series featuring the boy group BTS. New episodes air weekly and have been available for free on V Live since 2015, on Weverse since 2020, and on YouTube since 2022. In each installment, the members take part in games, challenges, or other activities tied to a theme, sometimes involving secret missions, with the outcome determining whether they win prizes or face punishments. Three seasons totaling 156 episodes have been released since the show debuted on August 1, 2015, with episodes typically dropping every Tuesday. After a ten-month pause following the end of season three in October 2021, a special ten-episode season began on August 16, 2022. The series later returned as Run BTS! 2.0 starting April 23, 2026, preceded by a prologue episode on April 7 that covered the group’s discussions about the revamped show’s schedule and plans. Episodes revolve around BTS members completing activities—usually games, missions, or challenges—tied to a specific theme, with success earning prizes and failure leading to punishments. Tasks may be tackled as a full group, in teams, or individually. Some special episodes feature non-competitive activities like fashion shows, skits, or drama-making. Most episodes are guided by an MC, often one of the members taking on the host role, with production staff facilitating the missions. Jin and Suga serve as MCs most frequently, while J-Hope, RM, and V have occasionally taken on the role. For missions requiring everyone’s participation, all members act as presenters. Episode runtimes started at 8–15 minutes, grew to 20–40 minutes from season two onward, and settled into a more consistent 30–40 minutes by 2020. Behind-the-scenes clips are uploaded after each episode; originally posted on the paid BTS+ V Live fan ship channel starting in 2017, Big Hit Entertainment moved them to Weverse on January 16, 2020, as exclusive subscription-based content. Within three days, the first video had 242,000 views and 2.24 million likes, and the second had 100,000 views and 87,000 likes.
