Turmoil & Dissolution

Lotus Eater's final years were marked by dramatic personnel upheaval. Founding guitarist Alan Ross departed in August 2020 after a Bloodstock performance, replaced by Jack Dutton of Parting Gift. Shortly after, Douglas Park and Dutton left, and the band brought in Paul Collins and Aidan Cooper, both formerly of MTXS. Craig McCulloch and Jamie McLees also departed for unrelated reasons. By March 2021, only drummer Cameron Humphrey remained from the previous lineup, with Collins on vocals and Cooper on guitar. The band announced their debut album, Where the Body Goes, for July 23, 2021, and released the single "Obliterate" featuring Bring Me the Horizon's Oliver Sykes. But on July 9, two weeks before the album's release, Lotus Eater announced their disbandment after three women publicly accused Collins of sexual and physical abuse. Collins called the claims untrue and defamatory, threatening legal action. The album was pulled, with Humphrey stating it "will never see the light of day."
