The Hood Trilogy is a set of British drama films set in the Ladbroke Grove and Latimer Road districts of inner West London. The series started with Kidulthood in 2006, and was continued with Adulthood and Brotherhood. The movies follow a group of teenagers, and the franchise has made over £7 million globally.
Kidulthood, a 2006 drama directed by Menhaj Huda, depicts its young characters as reckless and antisocial. They engage in violent and lawless behaviour, including petty theft and serious assault, as well as recreational drug use and some sexual activity. The film was released on 3 March 2006.
Adulthood, a 2008 drama directed by Noel Clarke, centres on the protagonist Sam after his release from prison. Six years after being jailed for killing Trife, he is shown to have changed significantly from the person he was when he went inside. This film came out on 20 June 2008.
Brotherhood, a 2016 drama also directed by Noel Clarke, follows Sam as he confronts a new environment. He finds that this world brings fresh problems and challenges, and that he will need old friends to help him survive new threats. It was released on 29 August 2016.
