Format
The Mysti Show was broadcast on Saturday mornings on CBBC Channel at 10am, and was also simulcast on BBC One before later moving to BBC Two. The hour-long episodes consisted of 40 minutes of magazine and feature content wrapped around two 10-minute narrative drama segments. The feature content included a game show element called The Battle of Elbubb. Characters from the narrative segments—Mysti, Rick, Ella, Ollie, and Abby—also appeared in character as presenters of the magazine portions, while Professor Dust hosted The Battle of Elbubb. Guest appearances included Jackie Chan, Steve Coogan, Kirsten Dunst, McFly, and Jamelia. The hour-long episodes were later repeated on CBBC Channel; after the second series aired, the first-series episodes were reedited into 20-minute narrative dramas, and the magazine content has not been rebroadcast since. The show was renamed to simply Mysti for its second series, which ran as a 20-minute drama. In the story, the characters have grown up and are in the 6th form. Mysti is banished from the heath, her previous fairy magic is taken away, and she gains new powers unfamiliar to the Fairies. Ollie does not appear in the second series, and the only Fairies featured are Dust, Saber, Tatiana, and Peri; the other Fairies from the first series are absent.
