Albuquerque DEA Field Office

Hank Schrader's DEA workplace, run by ASAC George Merkert

The Albuquerque DEA Field Office is the Drug Enforcement Administration's headquarters for the Albuquerque District, part of the El Paso Division, and Hank Schrader's workplace under ASAC George Merkert. After Tuco Salamanca's death Hank questions Jesse, Wendy and Hector Salamanca here, and Hector fouls himself in his wheelchair mid-interview rather than help the Feds. Hank's colleagues celebrate the Tuco bust by presenting him with Tuco's dental grill set in a lucite cube, Merkert promotes him to the Tri-State Border Interdiction Task Force, and he suffers a panic attack in the elevator on the way to the congratulatory lunch.

It is also where Merkert introduces Hank to local businessman Gustavo Fring of Los Pollos Hermanos, where Hank's secretary Janice chases the DMV for the overlooked RV registration, and where Hank gives his statement about the RV's destruction at the junkyard while pleading the Fifth about his beating of Jesse.
