Brazil's second Confederations Cup triumph, sealed with a 4–1 win over Argentina in Frankfurt.
The 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup was the seventh edition of the tournament, held in Germany from 15 June to 29 June 2005. Brazil won the tournament, defeating Argentina 4–1 in the final at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt.

Brazil's victory in 2005 made them the first country to be reigning World Cup, Confederations Cup, and continental champions twice, having previously achieved this feat in 1997. The final was a rematch of the 2004 Copa América final, also won by Brazil. Adriano scored five goals in the tournament, winning the Golden Shoe.

The tournament featured five venues, all reused for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Originally, Kaiserslautern's Fritz-Walter-Stadion was intended as a venue but withdrew on 27 May 2004 due to added costs. The official match ball was the Adidas Pelias 2.
