Hennes Weisweiler Legendary Manager
The architect of Borussia Mönchengladbach's early Bundesliga dominance
Hennes Weisweiler was the manager of Borussia Mönchengladbach when the club achieved promotion to the Bundesliga in 1965 and won its first league title in 1969–70. Under his guidance, Gladbach became the first club to retain the Bundesliga title in 1970–71. He left Borussia after the 1974–75 season to become manager of Barcelona.

Weisweiler managed Borussia Mönchengladbach during their golden era, leading them to promotion in 1965 and to two consecutive Bundesliga titles in 1970 and 1971. He also oversaw the club's run to the 1973 UEFA Cup final, where they lost to Liverpool. After the 1974–75 season, he left to manage Barcelona.
