Neighborhoods Tour
Blink-182's 2011–2014 headlining run in support of the album Neighborhoods.
Last updated
The Neighborhoods Tour, later renamed the 20th Anniversary Tour, was a headlining concert tour by the American rock band blink-182. It opened on August 16, 2011, in Montreal, Quebec, and wrapped up on October 11, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The run promoted the band's sixth studio album, Neighborhoods (2011), and took them through Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia over four years. It carries extra weight in the band's history because it was the final tour featuring Tom DeLonge before he departed in 2015; he did not come back until 2022.
Background
The band first announced the tour in November 2010, after playing festivals in Germany, France and England. The early schedule listed arena shows in Manchester, Newcastle upon Tyne, Nottingham, Birmingham and London, which would have been their first arena dates in seven years, plus festival slots at T in the Park and Oxegen.
In April 2011 the European leg was pushed back to 2012 because the new record was unfinished and the members did not want to repeat a hits-only set. They spent the summer on the 10th Annual Honda Civic Tour with My Chemical Romance, then played Canada in August as the album neared completion. Later legs covered the U.S. and Europe in 2012, Australia in 2013 and Europe again in 2014.
Did You Know?
- The European leg was originally meant to open the tour but was postponed to 2012.
- Rob Williams of the Winnipeg Free Press gave the MTS Centre show four out of five stars.
- The encore opened with "Untitled I", an instrumental interlude.
