Gerhard 'Gerd' Müller (3 November 1945 – 15 August 2021) was a German professional footballer. A prolific striker, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalscorers and players in the history of the sport. He is one of only a handful of players to have won the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and the Ballon d'Or.

Müller scored 365 goals in 427 Bundesliga matches for Bayern Munich, still the league's record. He scored 68 goals in 62 appearances for West Germany. He held the all-time World Cup goal-scoring record with 14 goals for 32 years. He won the Ballon d'Or in 1970 and the Golden Boot at the 1970 World Cup. He scored the winning goal in the 1974 World Cup final.
