Olympiastadion
Bayern's home from 1972 until the Allianz Arena.
The Olympiastadion is a stadium at the heart of the Olympiapark in northern Munich, built as the main venue for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Until the Allianz Arena was built for the 2006 World Cup, it was home to Bayern Munich and 1860 Munich.

Lore & Background
It was designed by the architect Gunther Behnisch and the engineer Frei Otto, with a lightweight tent-like construction. During the Olympics, track and field crowds were estimated at 80,000 to 90,000 a day.

Its current capacity is 63,118 seated. It remains Munich's main athletics stadium, is used for concerts, and still hosts football for Turkgucu Munich.
It hosted the 1974 World Cup final, the Euro 1988 final, and European Cup finals in 1979, 1993 and 1997.
