The franchise first appeared in 2018 as the Industriales de la Laguna, playing in the Liga de Básquetbol Estatal de Chihuahua. Their original home was the Gimnasio Auditorio Centenario in Gómez Palacio, but they later moved to Torreón’s Auditorio Municipal de Torreón. For the 2021 season, the team rebranded as Toros de Torreón. In 2022, the franchise took on the name Toros Laguna, marking a new chapter for professional basketball in the La Laguna region. This version of the team entered the 2023 season of the Liga de Básquetbol Estatal de Chihuahua, with Facundo Murías signing on as head coach that same year.
