On 9 February 2019, Abrines was waived by the Thunder, citing personal reasons.

Return to Spain (2019–2025)

He signed a two-year deal with FC Barcelona on 12 July 2019, extended it until 2026 on 30 June 2021, and suffered a knee injury on 17 September 2021 that sidelined him for four months. He retired from professional basketball on 22 July 2025, having played ten seasons for Barcelona, appearing in 660 games and winning 15 titles.
