His closest friends are Russell Skinner and Dina Demeris, and he has a crush on his classmate Bianca. Bridget Neval is Elizabeth Hawke, the main villain, who also gains genius-level intelligence from the same accident. While Toby uses his smarts for good, Elizabeth wants to take over the school. Benjamin Schmideg plays Russell "Russ" Skinner, Toby's loyal and brave best friend who loves skateboarding and pizza, even if he is not the sharpest. Saskia Burmeister is Dina Demiris, a smart and attractive friend to Toby and Russ who finds boys annoying and despises Elizabeth; she leaves for Hong Kong in the second season and is replaced by Sasha. Emma Leonard portrays Verity McGuire, Elizabeth's longtime friend from primary school who helps with her schemes but lacks the nerve to object when Elizabeth goes too far. Brook Sykes plays Garth King, the slow-witted school bully who spies for Elizabeth and is always ready to fight, especially with Russ. Robert van Mackelenberg appears as Professor Carl Tesslar, the physics teacher at Sandy Bay High. Geneviève Picot is Principal Alexa Vyner.
