History

Lift was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in the 1990s as a replacement for Mello Yello, which had itself replaced Leed Lemon Soda Squash in the early 1980s. The only standard flavour in the Lift range was Lemon. In 2015 it was rebranded as Fanta Lemon Lift, then returned to the original Lift name in 2016 with a flavour change that made the drink more sour. Lift was discontinued in the Australian market in September 2022 and replaced by Sprite Lemon+, a lemon-flavoured Sprite with caffeine, announced by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners on 13 September 2022.

Rumours that Lift would be discontinued in New Zealand prompted a statement from Coca-Cola that it would not be. In Germany, Lift was originally introduced in 1974 with lemon juice; the Lift Apfelschorle variant contains 55% apple juice and water without additional flavouring, and other variations include apple and grapefruit juice. Lift was launched in the Philippines in April 1994 as a replacement for Mello Yello, but was discontinued in the early 2000s and later replaced by Sparkle.

In 2025, Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines relaunched Lift in the Western Visayas and Negros Island Region market, where it now coexists with Royal Tru-Lemon.
