Background

The three-episode web series builds on the live-action films Attack on Titan and Attack on Titan: End of the World, using the same cast to tell a new story about the everyday lives and secrets of the soldiers, in particular Hange's Titan research and the creation of the omni-directional mobility gear in the films' continuity.

Satomi Ishihara plays Hange, Nanami Sakuraba is Sasha, Rina Takeda is Lil, Shu Watanabe is Fukushi, Ayame Misaki is Hiana and Yu Kamio is Yunohira, while Yuta Hiraoka plays Izuru, an original character created for the web drama; the returning cast members were confirmed as of June 27, 2015. The theme song, "Hangeki no Yaiba" ("Counter Blade"), is performed by the Japanese rock band Wagakki Band and was included on the band's second full album Yasou Emaki.

In 2016 Madman Entertainment in Australia and Edko Films in Hong Kong released the series on Blu-ray and DVD under the title Attack on Titan: Hangeki no Noroshi, in Japanese with English subtitles.
