Moussa Diaby, a French winger born on 7 July 1999, played one season for Aston Villa. He joined from Bayer Leverkusen on 22 July 2023 for an undisclosed fee reported as a club-record 51.9 million pounds, turning down the Saudi Pro League to reunite with his former Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery, and left for Al-Ittihad on 24 July 2024 in a deal reported at around 60 million euros.

Diaby scored within minutes of coming on in a 2-0 pre-season win over Fulham in the Premier League Summer Series and then on his league debut, a 5-1 defeat at Newcastle United on 12 August 2023. His goal in a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on 30 March 2024 was measured by Opta at 109.84 km/h and won the Premier League's Most Powerful Goal award as the fastest of the season. From a Malian family, he started at Esperance Paris, joined PSG at 13 and was voted Titi d'Or by his academy team-mates, had a loan at Crotone, and moved to Leverkusen in June 2019 for 15 million euros plus a 20 percent sell-on. He won his first France cap in September 2021, and on 1 September 2026 returned to Bayer Leverkusen from Al-Ittihad for a reported 30 million euros.
