Clement Lenglet, a French centre-back born on 17 June 1995, spent the 2023-24 season at Aston Villa on loan from Barcelona, joining on 1 September 2023. By December Barcelona were reported to be considering a recall because he had played only in the Conference League, before injuries to Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings gave him a Premier League debut in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on 22 December 2023.

Reader's Guide
Lenglet came through at Nancy, where he made 85 appearances from his 2013 debut and won the 2015-16 Ligue 2 title, moved to Sevilla for 5.4 million euros in January 2017 and to Barcelona for 35 million euros in 2018, with a loan at Tottenham Hotspur before Villa. After the Villa loan he was loaned to Atletico Madrid in August 2024, ended his Barcelona contract in June 2025 and signed for Atletico permanently, and on 30 June 2026 joined Benfica on loan for 2026-27. He made his France debut in 2019, played at Euro 2020 and was recalled in May 2025 after four years out of the squad.
