SS Alba-Audace Roma

Società Sportiva Alba-Audace was an Italian football club based in Rome’s Flaminio district. Founded in 1907, it is best remembered for taking part in the early Italian Football Championship and for being one of three Roman clubs that merged in 1927 to create AS Roma.
The club started as Società Sportiva Alba, owned by a Roman named Umberto Farneti. He provided land in the Flaminio area for the club’s home ground. In the early years, only northern Italian teams were allowed into the Italian Football Championship, so Alba had to wait until the 1912–13 season for its debut. After qualifying for the Lazio section, the club was forced to forfeit its matches.
At the end of the 1925–26 season, the Fascist regime compelled Alba to absorb another Roman side, Audace Roma. The club kept its original colors and became U.S. Alba-Audace Roma. Just one season later, it merged with Roman F.C. and Fortitudo-Pro Roma S.G.S. to form AS Roma.
Alba-Audace briefly reformed in 1945. After merging with Trastevere Roma, it played the 1946–47 Serie B season as Alba Trastevere. The club disbanded in the late 1960s.
The club won the Southern Italian Championship twice, in 1924–25 and 1925–26. Over its history, it went through many name changes, including S.S. Alba Roma, A.S. Alba Motor Roma, Albaerotecnica Roma, A.S. Albala Roma, and U.S. Albatrastevere Roma, before finally folding.
