Christian Fischer is an American former professional ice hockey forward who played in the NHL for the Arizona Coyotes, Detroit Red Wings, and Columbus Blue Jackets. He was selected by the Coyotes 32nd overall in the 2015 NHL entry draft.

Playing career

Fischer played junior hockey with Chicago Mission Bantam AAA, Chicago Mission Midget AAA, and Chicago Mission U16, totaling 44 goals and 95 points in 77 games over three seasons. He was selected in the 11th round of the 2013 OHL Priority Selection but was not signed. He then joined the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, playing for the USA U17 team and later the U18 and junior teams. On March 5, 2015, Fischer scored the fastest goal in USHL history, six seconds into a game against the Omaha Lancers. He was drafted 32nd overall by Arizona in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. On August 20, 2015, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Coyotes, and on August 24 he came to terms with the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL, continuing his junior career. After his rookie season with the Spitfires in 2015–16, Fischer signed an amateur try-out contract with the Coyotes' AHL affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, on April 7, 2016, and recorded 3 points in 6 games. He made his NHL debut on January 21, 2017, against the Tampa Bay Lightning, scoring his first NHL goal from teammates Jamie McGinn and Alexander Burmistrov in a 5–3 victory. Fischer spent the entire 2017–18 season with the Coyotes, finishing with 33 points in 79 games. He recorded his first career NHL hat trick on October 23, 2018, in a 4–1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. On October 28, 2022, Fischer scored the first and second NHL goals at Mullett Arena, the Coyotes' temporary home shared with the ASU Sun Devils. On July 2, 2023, he signed a one-year, $1.125 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings. On March 5, 2025, he was waived by the Red Wings and claimed by the Columbus Blue Jackets the next day, playing one game for them. On July 4, 2025, Fischer announced his retirement from professional hockey to pursue a business opportunity in golf.
