Sarah Nikitin

Sarah Nikitin was born on 27 December 1988 and competes in recurve archery. She was a member of Brazil's archery squad in three editions of the Pan American Games: 2007, 2011, and 2015. At the 2014 South American Games in Santiago, Chile, she scored her only career medal, a bronze, by defeating Venezuela's Leidys Brito in the women's individual recurve tournament. She trains under head coach Evandro Azevedo for the Brazilian national squad and shoots at a local archery range in her native São Paulo.

Nikitin was selected by the Brazilian Olympic Committee to compete for the host nation at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, shooting in both the individual and team recurve tournaments. In the classification round, she scored 609 points with 8 perfect tens and 3 bull's eyes, earning the fiftieth seed for the knockout draw. The Brazilian women's team, comprising Nikitin, Ane Marcelle dos Santos, and Marina Canetta, posted a cumulative score of 1,845, placing eleventh in the team recurve. They faced Italy in the opening round and lost in straight sets 0–6, despite strong support from the home crowd. In the women's individual recurve, Nikitin was defeated early in the opening round by North Korea's Kang Un-ju, losing 0–6 and ending her Olympic debut. Her career is defined by her bronze medal at the 2014 South American Games and her participation in multiple Pan American Games and the Rio Olympics.
