Dawn of the Croods is an American 2D-animated television sitcom series produced by DreamWorks Animation, based on the 2013 film The Croods. The series takes place before the events of the film and premiered on December 24, 2015, on Netflix. It ran for four seasons, with the final season released on July 7, 2017.

Dawn of the Croods is notable for its shift from the computer animation of the feature film to 2D animation, a choice driven by cost and creative goals. The creators wanted a more 'cartoonish' look and found 'squash and stretch' too expensive in CG. The first three episodes were animated in Toon Boom Harmony by Bardel Entertainment, but DreamWorks found Harmony unsuitable for scenes with multiple characters; subsequent episodes were traditionally hand-drawn by South Korean studios EMation, NE4U, and Dong Woo Animation. The series aired on Netflix and in Canada on Family Channel and Family Chrgd. Executive producer Brendan Hay indicated on Twitter on July 9, 2017, that the fourth season would 'most likely' be the last, which it was.
