Highspeed Etoile

A racing anime born from a Super Formula collaboration.

Highspeed Etoile is an original anime from Japan, produced by Studio A-Cat and helmed by director Keitaro Motonaga with scripts by Takamitsu Kōno. Takuya Fujima provided the initial character concepts. The series was originally developed in partnership with the Japanese Super Formula Championship to mark its 50th anniversary, and later joined forces with Formula E’s Tokyo ePrix and Formula One’s Japanese Grand Prix. It ran from April through June 2024, and a follow-up anime project has been confirmed.

A manga spin-off, Highspeed Etoile: L'Entrée de Towa et Kanata, with art by Chiaki Misono and support from the Suzuka Circuit, started its run on Akita Shoten's Manga Cross site on October 23, 2023. By April 2024, its chapters were gathered into a single book. The original anime was first revealed on July 15, 2022, featuring Takuya Fujima as the original character designer. Studio A-Cat handled the animation, with Keitaro Motonaga directing, Takamitsu Kōno writing, music by First Call Music, and sound direction by Yasunori Ebina. It broadcast from April 6 to June 22, 2024, on MBS, TBS, their affiliates, and BS-TBS as part of the Animeism block. Nana Mizuki performed the opening "ADRENALIZED," and Scandal performed the ending "Fanfare." Crunchyroll streamed the series, while Medialink licensed it for Asia-Pacific (excluding Australia and New Zealand) and aired it on the Ani-One Asia YouTube channel. On November 25, 2024, Fujima announced a new anime project is underway. Highspeed Étoile Paddock Stories launched on Nintendo Switch on November 21, 2024.
