Turbo Fast is an American animated television series that follows the 2013 film *Turbo*. DreamWorks Animation Television produced it, with animation by Titmouse. It debuted as a Netflix exclusive in the United States and the 40 countries where Netflix was then available, and later expanded worldwide through the service. This show holds the distinction of being Netflix’s first original series aimed at children, as well as the first DreamWorks Animation series made for Netflix. Episodes typically run two 11-minute segments each, though a handful are double-length. In April 2023, Netflix removed the series (along with another DreamWorks show, *The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show*), but it can still be watched on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.
Set five months after the film’s events, the story follows Turbo and his crew as they move to Starlight City. There, they learn new stunts and face off against various villains. Tito builds a city for the snails, complete with a race track, and Turbo continues his racing adventures with his older brother Chet and friends Whiplash, Burn, Skidmark, White Shadow, and Smoove Move. Together, they call themselves the Fast Action Stunt Team, or Team F.A.S.T.
The main characters include Theodore “Theo” / Turbo (voiced by Reid Scott), a snail who gained super speed after being swallowed by a car engine, which infused his DNA with nitrous oxide, allowing him to win the Indy 500. Whitney “Whiplash” Chubbington (John Eric Bentley) is the tough leader of the F.A.S.T. crew, whose shell has a jet engine; despite his gruffness, he likes lavender lotion. Skip “Skidmark” Markovich (Amir Talai) is the team’s mechanic, with a propeller-equipped shell and a fondness for conspiracy theories that often annoy his teammates, though many prove true; he is best friends with White Shadow. Chester “Chet” (Eric Bauza) is Turbo’s older brother, a safety patrolman and the crew’s manager, who is also Burn’s boyfriend; his shell features an ambulance with helicopter rotors called the “Shellcopter.” Smoove Move (Phil LaMarr) is the grooviest snail, with bass speakers on his shell, a love for funk and rap music, and skills as a DJ and painter. Bernice “Burn” Guzman (Grey DeLisle) is the only female member, a hot-headed, sassy racer who co-leads the team and is Chet’s girlfriend; her shell has a flamethrower.
