David Perron

David Perron is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played for the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL. Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, he played junior hockey for the Lewiston Maineiacs of the QMJHL, helping them win the 2006 President's Cup. That success led to him being selected 26th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2007 NHL entry draft. Perron began his pro career with the Blues, then was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in 2013. His time in Edmonton was cut short by multiple injuries, which also kept him out of the 2014 IIHF World Championship. After two seasons with the Oilers, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins and later the Anaheim Ducks before returning to St. Louis in 2016.
