Bindi the Jungle Girl

Bindi Irwin, the daughter of Steve and Terri Irwin, hosts the children's nature documentary series *Bindi the Jungle Girl*. The Best Picture Show Company produced and filmed it in Queensland for Discovery Kids and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It aired on Discovery Kids and Animal Planet in the United States from June 9, 2007, to December 20, 2008, and began on ABC1 in Australia on July 18, 2007.

Alongside Bindi, the show features her mother Terri, her younger brother Robert, and Wes Mannion—Steve Irwin's close friend and director of Australia Zoo. Bindi sings and dances with a group called the Crocmen, and answers viewer questions in a segment titled "Bindi's Blog." Steve Irwin appears in several episodes filmed before his death in 2006. The second series was produced after his death, but he appears in archive footage in a segment called "Croc Hunter Unplugged," where he is generally spoken of in the present tense as if still alive.

The plot follows Bindi and her late father, "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, as they promote conservation by teaching the world about various animals and explaining their importance. The cast includes Bindi Irwin, Terri Irwin, Robert Irwin, and Steve Irwin as themselves, along with Macaila Fernandes as Girl with Cat, Dani Hagan as Hamster Care Educator, and Johnny Maio as Boy with Guinea Pigs. The series has two seasons: season 1 (2007–08) and season 2 (2008). A related special, *My Daddy, the Crocodile Hunter*, introduced the series alongside Bindi's first solo television program, a documentary and memorial about Steve Irwin that also discussed Bindi's emerging career.
