Format
Two teams of four pairs each, made up of chefs and front-of-house staff who already know each other, compete in downtown Manhattan. Each team gets a vacant restaurant across the street from the other. Every week, both restaurants open for service, and the losing team must eliminate its weakest pair, as decided by chef White. A weekly challenge, sometimes kitchen-related and sometimes front-of-house-related, gives the winning team an edge in the next service. The American show’s structure is very different from the original Australian version.
Episode results
The show was canceled after three episodes. Remaining episodes were broadcast each Wednesday on NBC.com, then aired on NBC starting with episode 4 on June 19, with a break on June 26 due to a Farrah Fawcett documentary. One episode had no elimination. The final episode aired on NBC on July 24, 2009. In the UK, ITV2 began airing the series after the finale of Hell's Kitchen, showing six episodes; episode 7 was not shown on Monday at 8 o'clock, with no explanation given.
