Pioneers of epic music blending orchestral grandeur with symphonic metal.
Globus is an American band whose sound draws from movie trailer music, made up of a rotating group of producers, musicians, and vocalists. The group is headed by composer and producer Yoav Goren.
The band formed after growing demand for Immediate Music to reach a broader audience. Globus made its live debut at The Grand Hall in Wembley, London, on July 26, 2006, and released its first album, *Epicon*, that August. Drummer Mark Richardson of Feeder played on the album, with guest vocals from Scott Ciscon.
A second album, *Break From This World*, came out in 2011. Ciscon returned for some tracks, and Dutch singer Anneke van Giersbergen also contributed vocals and helped write lyrics for the song "Mighty Rivers Run." After that, Globus went quiet for several years while Goren focused on other composing and production work.
The group resumed activity in mid-2018. On November 4, 2020, they released a cover of John Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth" (1971), their first studio recording in over nine years and the first of three covers tied to the 2020 U.S. election. On February 25, 2022, they put out the single "You and I," featuring Dann Pursey, as the first of three singles leading to their third studio album, *Cinematica*, released on October 14, 2022.
In 2024, Globus collaborated with the project A.D.A.M., with Goren working with songwriter Danny McGaw and vocalist TD Lind on an outlaw-themed album, *Unforgiven*, released March 15, 2024. A 22-minute short film of the same name, containing music videos for "The Devil Is Me," "Ordinary Man," and "Love Me True" within a single story, premiered on March 15, 2025, at the Indie Short Fest. After winning awards including Best Short Film at the Rome International Short Festival and Best Music in Short at the Hong Kong Indie Film Festival, the film was released on YouTube on April 16, 2026. A fifth studio album, *Every End a Whispered Start*, premiered on YouTube on August 25, 2026, ahead of its full release on September 25. A ten-episode behind-the-scenes documentary series, "Inside the Sound," accompanied the album's production.
Musically, Globus is regarded as a pioneer of the Epic Music genre. Their style ranges from orchestral arrangements to symphonic rock, with elements of world music and symphonic metal. Many tracks are built from orchestral source material from the Immediate Music library, with rock elements layered over reworked arrangements. Several compositions have been used as trailer music, including "Preliator," which appeared in trailers for *Spider-Man 2* and *The Dukes of Hazzard*, as well as a promotional spot for PlayStation Move. A portion of the *Epicon* track "Preliator" was also used for the final sinking of the Japanese warship *Yamato* in a 2005 feature.
