Fifth Harmony (also known as 5H) was an American girl group from Miami. The lineup consisted of Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello, who left in December 2016. They were put together and signed to a joint deal with Simon Cowell's Syco Records and L.A. Reid's Epic Records after finishing in third place on the second season of *The X Factor* in 2012. The group was known for its vocal range and songs about female empowerment, self-positivity, confidence, and unity. *Billboard* named them the biggest girl group of the 2010s, and in 2017 *Time* called them arguably "the biggest girl group in the world."
Their debut single, "Miss Movin' On," came before the *Better Together* EP. Their first album, *Reflection* (2015), went gold in the U.S. and included the singles "Boss," "Sledgehammer," and "Worth It"—the last of which went triple platinum and reached the top ten in thirteen countries. In 2016, "Work from Home" (from the album *7/27*) peaked at number four on the *Billboard* Hot 100, the first top-five single by a girl group in a decade on that chart. Their self-titled third album came out in 2017. The group went on an indefinite hiatus in May 2018 so members could pursue solo projects.
Fifth Harmony sold nearly 15 million RIAA-certified units and reportedly moved 33 million copies worldwide, making them one of the best-selling girl groups ever. As of 2016, they had 1.6 billion on-demand streams per Nielsen SoundScan. They hold the most top-ten albums on the U.S. *Billboard* 200 for any 21st-century girl group.
